Day five of our trip started with a relaxing morning. Without a planned tour or excursion, each of us could do whatever we felt like doing. Some of us were a bit lazy, but we all knew that we really wanted to go on a trekking tour and spend the night in the jungle.
Already on the first day I had asked everyone if they could imagine sleeping in a hammock in the jungle. Opinions were divided: half were unsure, the other half could imagine it, but were not entirely convinced. But in the last few days our team had grown even closer together and we had gained confidence in our crew and our guide. We agreed that it would be a great experience to wake up in a hammock in the morning and experience the jungle – including the bird calls and sounds in the trees.
Each of us had surpassed ourselves and had gained courage and self-confidence. Personally, I had realized here in the jungle how simple and beautiful life can be. I was looking forward to spending even more time exploring nature in the future. We entered the jungle only with the permission of the Indians, because it was their millennia-old habitat.
In order to look at the island’s diversity from above, I flew my drone over 300 meters high. We agreed that it was important to take care of our environment, so we used paddleboards or boats so as not to leave a footprint.
The rest of the day was unspectacular, but our chef had surprised us with two delicious cakes: banana and passion fruit cake. At sunset we sat together and philosophized about life. It was a quiet day, but we knew that the next adventure was already waiting for us.
