Day Eight – We were still in bed at 8 AM, laughing about last night. The planned overnight stay in the jungle had left us soaked, but our Plan B ensured we slept dry. After breakfast, we returned to camp and tidied everything up. We paddled back and then took a boat to Novo Airao. There, we refueled and drank cold beer. Jean brought his son and introduced him to us. After a communal dinner, we all went to bed, a little wistful that it was our last night on board. However, we were looking forward to seeing our families and friends again soon and sharing our impressions and stories of the Amazon adventure.
