On the second day of the trip, we meet at 7 am on the aft terrace of our ship and start pumping up our SUP boards. Without a specific destination in mind, we explore the area and enjoy the unique nature. To protect ourselves from the strong sun, we generously apply sunscreen. Our first stop is the sandy beach, where we cool off in the Rio Negro. Next, we visit Vila Acajatuba, where we receive a warm welcome. We spend some time in the village square and visit the small church before strengthening ourselves with fish and Caipirinha at a local eatery. We buy handmade souvenirs and provisions and then head out for fishing. After buying suitable hooks, we take the ship to a small side arm of the Rio Negro to fish at night. The atmosphere is a little eerie, as you constantly feel watched, but we relax and enjoy the silence. Most of us are here for the first time and wonder what we're doing here, but we all have a great time and are ready for the next adventure.
